Poetry We Like

As promised in last week's blog post here are some examples of Geek Poetry that we like. Feel free to leave a comment below if you have other examples of your own. This one will build up as we find more.

Ode to Code: A Geek Poem (by Raph Koster)

Where to find it http://www.raphkoster.com/2007/01/14/the-sunday-poem-ode-to-code-a-geek-poem/

This is one of the oldest ones we've found, and it is fab. As well as having a geeky subject (it's about writing code for games) it is chock full of puns, references and is in the shape of a sine wave. That last is truly remarkable because each of the line breaks works to shape the meaning as well as the layout. This really has it all and I wish we could include it in the anthology even though it has already been published.

Geek Girl Poetry

The Geek Girl Project has a whole section devoted to poetry and writing, there is a whole load in there for you to browse. http://www.thegeekgirlproject.com/category/fiction-and-poetry/

Linux Poetry

The Linux website is also collecting poetry, but focussed on the Linux OS. The page below features a number of poems by Morgan Phillips and they are pretty technical but still awesome poetry. It helps somewhat if you understand the basics of linux and/or software development. However they are educational and you'll learn about it if you don't!
